In the eye of the beholder

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. People have different tastes and different likes. I say thank God to that. Today while drving home from work, dad tells me that he went over to a friend's house. He saw the ugliest dog ever.

I was expecting him to say a pitt bull or something like that. He simply says, a black labrador. Happens to be the dog I want, its that or an Alaskan Malamute. After I start gushing over the dog, he doesn't mention a thing about Labs being ugly.

I tell him, "Dad, an ugly dog would be one like Muñequita", my mom's dog. He tries to say she's not ugly, but then says, "you've never liked small dogs".
